What we collect, and what we don't.

Last updated: 5 September 2026

The short version

1. Who we are

The Broke Brokers is an independent trading-education and entertainment brand operated from Australia. We publish educational content. We are not a licensed financial adviser, we do not manage money, and we do not take deposits.

If you want to talk to us about anything in this policy — including deleting your data — email brokebrokersclub@gmail.com.

2. What we actually collect

Information you give us

Your email address, when you enter it into the sign-up form to get the discipline guide. The form also has an optional, unticked marketing checkbox. If you tick it, we store that choice and the consent version with the submission. We do not ask for your name, phone number or address.

When you submit the guide form, we may also store campaign parameters from the page URL (such as UTM source, medium, campaign and content) plus the initial referring page. We use these fields to understand which Broke Brokers content or link led to a successful guide request; they are not used to build an advertising profile.

Anything you choose to put in an email, DM or comment when you contact us. If you send us something personal, we'll have it, so use your judgement.

Information collected automatically

This site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify records standard server logs when a page is requested — typically your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time you asked for it. We use this only to keep the site running and to see roughly how much traffic it gets. We don't use it to build a profile of you.

What we don't collect

This is genuinely unusual and we'd rather say it plainly than bury it. If that ever changes — if we add analytics, for example — we'll update this page and say so at the top.

3. Why we use it

We do not sell or rent your email address. We will not send partner/referral promotions to guide-only contacts. If you separately opt in to marketing, we may send clearly disclosed Broke Brokers product news and partner/referral offers where we are permitted to do so, and we will identify material commercial relationships.

4. Who else touches your data

We use a small number of third-party services to run this. They only get what they need to do their job:

Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. By submitting the form you're consenting to your email address being stored overseas by these providers. We choose established providers with their own published privacy commitments, but their handling of data is governed by their policies, not ours.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We'd only ever disclose it if we were legally required to.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you ask us to remove it, or until we shut the list down. If you unsubscribe, we delete you from the list — we don't keep a suppression file of people who left.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to:

Email brokebrokersclub@gmail.com and we'll do it. There's no form and no fee, and we'll get to it as soon as we reasonably can.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you're unhappy with how we've handled something, tell us first — and if you're still unhappy, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

7. Links to other places

This site links out to Instagram, and may link to other services. Once you follow a link you're on their turf and their privacy policy applies, not ours.

Some links may be affiliate or referral links, meaning we could earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Where that's the case we disclose it at the link. An affiliate link may pass a referral code to the destination site so it knows the visit came from us — it doesn't send them your email address or anything else about you.

8. Social media

If you follow, comment on or message our accounts on Instagram or Facebook, those platforms collect data about you under their own policies, and we can see the public parts of your profile the same way anyone else can. We don't export or store that information.

9. Under 18s

This site and our content are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their email address, email us and we'll delete it.

10. Security

We keep the list small, access it from a small number of devices, and use reputable providers. We're not going to claim it's unbreakable — nobody honestly can. If something ever went wrong in a way that put you at real risk, we'd tell you.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change it, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant — new tracking, new use of your data — we'll say so clearly rather than quietly editing the text.
